PRESENT SIMPLE

PRESENT SIMPLE

Present Simple: We use an  infinitive  to talk about things we do every day or sometimes, it is called Present simple or Simple Present

Infinitive: The basic form of a verb.. examples.. run , come, go, meet, watch, play etc..
Positive Sentences: YOU/WE /THEY /I /Plural noun( more than  person/thing/place)+ infinitive.                        
                                You play tennis
                                 They watch TV everyday
                                  We go to the beach every saturday
                                  I meet my friends every sunday
                                  My brothers listen to music every evening
                                  The boys go to temple every morning
                                   Your collegues wash clothes once a week


                                If it is he/she/it /a singular noun ( one person/ place /thing), we have to add "s" or "es" to infinitive.
                            He plays tennis
                            She watches TV every evening
                            It (dog) barks every night
                            Suresh listens to music everyday
                            My friend reads magazines every Sunday
                            His son goes to temple every Monday
                            Steve comes to church on Sundays
                            Srujana cooks very well
                            Neha sings
                            The girl drinks milk everyday


Negative sentences:  You/we/they/I /plural noun+ do not ( short form-don't) +infinitive
                                 You do not play cricket
                                  I do not sing
                                  I do not go to temple everyday
                                  We do not meet Priya regularly
                                   My friends do not come here every morning
                                   The boys do not go to the beach
                                  
                                   He /she/it/ singular noun+ does not  (short form - doesn't)+infinitive
                                   He  does not sing
                                   She does not come here everyday
                                   It does not bark every night
                                   My girlfriend does not eat meat
                                   Srujana does not cook well
                                   Neha does not drink milk

Questions:                 We use  ' Do' to form questions with you/we/they/I /Plural noun
                                   We use 'Does' to form questions with he/she/it /singular noun
                                   
                                   Do you/we/they/I /plural noun+infinitive ?

                                   Do you play ?
                                   Do you sing?
                                   Do we meet everyday ?
                                   Do they come to temple ?
                                   Do they go to Hyderabad every year?
                                   Do I eat meat?
                                   Do your friends read magazines?
                                   Do their brothers talk to you ?
                                   Do my friends pray to god every morning?

                                  Does she/he/it/ singular noun+infinitive?
